Who ever made up the law that code enforcement only goes out to enforce the codes when someone puts a complaint in writing should be fired. Parts of Clay County are starting to look like a third world country. I have a neighbor with 4 broken down vehicles in his driveway and of course I dont want bad blood with the guy so there they sit. Look at the gas station across from Vystar Credit Union on Blanding in OP its boarded up, over grown and garbage all over the area. The sign over the In Town Suites in OP destroyed. You have Morgan and Morgan with a sign on the top of their roof that isnt to code. Basically the area from Wells to Kingsley on Blanding has become a dump and no one cares. Everyone just ignores it. No one should have to put it in writing for code enforcement to do their job!!! As fast as the county is growing and as much money as everyone is paying in taxes hire more people. This law definitely needs to be revised its ruining our county.

All Clay County residents should be saddened by Code Enforcement's lack of desire to do their job. They allow an apartment complex, The Bluff House, not make necessary water intrusion repairs by not investigating the resident's official complaint. By not acting, the situation has gotten worse, and NOW, the management is demanding the tenant move. Thanks Clay County Government for looking out for your best interest instead of the citizens! P.S. Had to give a one star to post, but not worth any.
