I’ve been using them for 25 years. I recently sent my wife there and she’s a fan now too. It seems many of their customers are lifers and I know why. They carry an extensive range of frames (surprising for the size of the place) with a lot of interesting and unusual styles and standard stuff as well. I find their prices reasonable for the quality (you get what you pay for, etc). As far as lenses, they always nail it the first time because they take their time while you’re in the store to make sure you’re getting what you need. Yet in my experience they’re faster than assembly line chain opticians, and unlike those places there’s no hard sell or hustle. They’re incredibly nice, patient people, a neighborhood fixture but worth patronizing wherever you live.

Henry Miller is a wonderful magical place for beautiful eyeglasses. Added to their fabulous collection of unlimited unique eyewear is the expertise of Kirk who can fix anything with his magical hands and devotion to do so and Melba’s uncanny instinct to pick out just the glasses you were looking for with gentle kindness and concern.

The two people at Henry Miller are the neurosurgeons of opticians. Their's is a second-generation store which gives them a comfort level with every aspect of the business that approaches true artistry. The care with which they select , describe and fit your glasses to the structure of your face is truly surprising, especially after one has dealt with the know-nothings at the many box chain stores. Not to mention that the brands carried are among the best, state-of-the-art frames available and, compared with other shops on the UES, always reasonably priced.

the man at the store was rude and was getting aggressive when i was unsure what frames i wanted. when he started taking glasses out of the cupboard he said he “had never had to do this before”. he told us to go online and do research instead before going. one of the rudest encounters i’ve ever had and i live in london. not returning. learn some manners.
