My experience was phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly AND thorough. I was super nervous as l wasn't receiving the proper care at the last eye doctor I went to. Dr. Kim didn't rush me out and listened to my concerns without making me feel stupid. A rarity in healthcare nowadays. Already referred my mom and will be taking my daughter as well. When I go to my eye doctor, Advance
Eye Center in Gainesville Georgia, I should not come out with an elevated blood pressure and elevated heart rate, but I did today. 

When I checked in, they told me I owed $95 and I said for what? They said from your visit last year 2/1/2023!!! I said last year… for what? They said a test that you had done that the insurance only paid five dollars on it and it cost $100. (They = two ladies at the front desk. Neither seemed sure of what they were looking at!). I said what was the test for? they said, “ he looked at the back of your eye!” I politely told them I did not want that test done again today.

The lady took me back, and I told her that I did not want a test if the insurance is not gonna pay for it! She began to tell me that it should be paid for by the medical portion of my insurance, not the vision. So she talked to the doctor, supposedly, and she came back in the room and told me that the doctor said he was going to do the test anyway and not charge me for it. I said great! He came in the room and I asked him about the test and what he saw last year. He explained.
He said, “We are NOT gonna do it today, since you didn’t wanna pay for it, and I proceeded to tell him that the lady told me that said he said he was gonna do the test anyway, but not charge me for it!!! He said, “ I don’t know who told you that but I didn’t say that!” WHO LIED?.

When I went to check out, the lady at the desk told me I owed $120.00!!! I said, for what!” She looked at her paper and said for TESTING for soft contacts!” I told her that I have worn soft contacts for many years and had never paid over $25 for refraction fee (even last year). I asked her which test was it, the first one, the second one or the third one! She couldn’t tell me - all she said was it’s because you got a prescription for contacts. I did not get a prescription for contacts…I got a prescription for glasses!!! She told me it was not a test, but it was a service! They were gonna charge me $120 for a service that was $25 last year and years past.

She went to talk with the manager. Came back out and explained that the manager said it did cost $120 now, and it had been $25 in the past, but they would only charge me $50 today for this service, but next year…It will be $120. Newsflash, I’m not going back there next year!!!

Get DETAILED BILLING FOR WHATEVER THEY DO!

This kind of stuff happens there all the time, and I do not like it at all. , I’ll find another Eye Doctor!
