Went to have cataract surgery on my left eye , surgery went fine but lost my distance vision and mid vision. Which was great before surgery. I could not see at night, couldn’t see to drive and could not see road signs anymore. Went to have second surgery told nurse what was going on with my first eye ,and she said to talk to the doctor about it when he comes in . So when he came in I told him everything that was going on with my left eye he said it will be better after we do the second. Well that was wrong sooooo bad now I can’t see nothing no distance no mid range can’t drive at all is ruined my vision. So I have talked with him , his answer well you had your choice to do the 5,000 dollar surgery but you said no . So there’s nothing I can do for you have to wear glasses I guess . I said you took my vision away what can we do about he said maybe he get some lasick done but that will about 1500 per eye . What a real ass of a guy please make sure you what goin on first . I got glasses but it not like what I had my eye doctor said that’s about the best glasses will do for you . This really sucks hope he’s happy with himself because I’m not

I brought my elderly mother to Dr. Ulrich for a cataract exam and consultation. He is an arrogant, rude and sarcastic individual. Behaved as if my mother was another head of cattle being herded through. His staff were not any better. I prefer to be taken care of by kind, compassionate and patient healthcare workers, not some guy who thinks he is god, and staff who treat you as just another faceless irritant interrupting their day. Especially so when caring for my elderly mother. Makes me sad that there are doctors and staff out there that behave this way. Makes me wonder why they chose this field of work if they don't have a heart. I don't get it.

I am so happy to have my second eye cataract surgery this morning. The first eye went so well, I could hardly wait to get the other one done. Dr. Ullrich is a wonderful surgeon! I am already seeing better than I have since I was in third grade. I am so pleased. I can see far, far away already and my near vision is already getting more and more clear. I don’t think I will need my glasses at all when the tiny bit of inflammation goes down in my right eye. It is like a miracle for me. I have only been out of surgery a couple of hours. All his staff is wonderful, too. I am so thankful to Dr. Ullrich, Advanced Eye Center and the Washington Surgery Center.
