after being stuck in hospitals for a month for an infection and heart condition i was transferred to connerton until I was ready to go home. the nurses and techs were amazing and made me feel so comfortable. only one male nurse made me feel like a burden and didnt seem to listen to me. besides that the almost month i was there I was comfortable and taken care of. it was one of the most difficult times of my life but they were with me daily making sure I was getting better physically and mentally.

On 8/16/24 my wife in room 203 was left laying on a pressure ulcer in high pain for over an hour although the wound care team says not to lay on it. When after four calls for help the nurse technician Barbara finally showed up and was very rough with my wife. She seemed very angry that we were bothering her. Then to make matters worse she tried to not put my wife on her side. But leave her still laying on her ulcer.
I am very angry and upset at the lack of care and compassion.

If you live your family member, don’t let the hospital transfer them to this facility. They killed my mother. They forced her to put on her BIPAP mask even though she was comparing of being nauseous for days without properly treating the nausea or the underlying reason. She ended up having an ileus while under their care and it was only found out because I demanded they give her an X-ray. Otherwise they were completely non concerned about her constant and increasing nausea. They put my mother in the BIPAP and then just left her there unmonitored. She had even told the nurse, Roxanne, that morning that if they put her on the BIPAP she would throw up. Which she did, not once, but twice, with the BIPAP mask, which caused her to aspirate her own vomit into her lungs which caused her to die from aspiration pneumonia and sepsis. But not after making us wait more than 24 hours for a second doctor to sign off on putting her out of her suffering and letting her pass in peace. They hide behind Florida's free kill law which states that if your family member dies in a medical facility and is not married or does not have any children under 25, you cannot sue for wrongful death. No one deserves to experience that my mother did or what her family had to go through as a result of this facility’s neglectful treatment

My husband has been in and out of this facility for a year. He has been in 6 other hospitals and rehabs and this facility has been amazing. The nurses are excellent. They really care. We live over 2 hours away and I do not worry when I can’t be there. I have complete trust. If there is ever an issue, it is resolved with a phone call. My husband is getting closer to a transfer to a lower level facility. I am so happy he is improving, but it is bittersweet. If you are looking for a beautiful, family-centered facility that provides excellent care (and even lets you bring your family pets), this is your place. We have been blessed to be here and will be forever grateful for the care provided.

The first words that come to my mind when I think of most professional nurses and specialists on staff here at Adventhealth Connerton hospital are noble, dedicated, self sacrificing true Christian servants of God sent from heaven.
It’s those special chosen ones who go out of their way to meet the needs of their assigned patients who treat them with dignity and respect no matter if they are in their 70’s 80’s or 90’s. They value every stage of life worth saving no matter the age, situation or condition.
I think the hospital should provide a star box, so we the family can put a star in the box in order for those special professions be recognized and not taken for granted or over looked, so they stand out like the stars in the sky among the dark times their patients may be going through. God bless the hands and feet sent from heaven extending God’s mercy, grace and miraculous healing here. ?
