I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years, so I have had a lot of eye exams, Today was the most thorough eye exam that I have ever had. Amanda and Dr. Avonda were outstanding. While waiting in the lobby I watched how good the other employees were. They were responsive, professional and kind to other clients. Highly recommend.

People there are nice. I had a problem with my prescription for my new glasses, and was told I just need to wear them to get used to. We'll, two weeks later I still can't see with the new glasses. I called three times before I got someone to talk to. Bad at returning phone calls! With the "new computer system", they are behind schedule so be prepared for a long time in the waiting areas.

I am an ex-professional football player, who relocated to Alachua County, diagnosed with diabetes and in the last couple of years have had to meet the challenge of being a bi-lateral amputee. Finding a Primary Optometrist who was sensitive to the needs of their clients with disabilities was extremely important to me. After reviewing many reviews and websites I was Super Interested in Alachua Family Eye Care. The page on Dr. Avonda's website dedicated to Accessibility is exactly what I was looking for and needed.

Yesterday, June 20, 2024, I attended my first appointment and was Extremely Overwhelmed with, not only the office and equipment, but first it was very easy to travel and locate the office. Next the parking and front access was very accessible. Now, here comes the Super Great part of my visit, the office is arranged and organized for all clients, Including the disabled. However, Even More Important, the Staff, starting with my check-in, was More than Outstanding. I did not have to sit and complete two hours of paperwork, or worse have to stand and complete two hours of paperwork.

My wait was a very very short wait and after being called I was treated like Royalty to prepare for my exams. The next Wonderful Professional who assisted me through the initial part of the exam, Amber or Amberly, demonstrated even more a sense of ownership. Now, I cannot say enough about Dr. Avonda. He left me with the feeling of being at ease and knowing I made the RIGHT CHOICE and a feeling that I AM A LIFETIME Client and Patient. I cannot EVER SEE myself going anywhere else, Not only to another eye Physician, but to another County or State.

My wife and I were traveling in Florida, coming back from Rosemary Beach and I started experiencing a very strong, sharp pain every time I blinked my right eye. I tried flushing it out with eye drops but it didn't work. We called Alachua Family Eye Care, and even though they were booked out, they told me to come in. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I didn't have to wait very long before I was seen by Dr. Avonda. It turned out that a piece of sand had become stuck to the inside of my eyelid and puss had started form around. After some numbing drops, Dr. Avonda flipped my eyelid and removed the piece of sand and cleaned it up. The sand had been scratching my cornea every time I blinked and if they hadn't seen me so quickly it could have damaged my cornea! Not only was Dr. Avonda very kind, skilled, and personable, but he called me two days later to see how I was doing. Making sure that the eye drop medicine I was told to use for the next several days was working, which it was. How many doctors would call to check up on you in this day and age! The level of care I received at Alachua Family Eye Care, and from Alachua Family Eye Care in particular, was amazing!!!
