Greatest shop in Blue Ridge with the most incredible service. Whether you’re local or traveling through you have to check this place out. Very high quality and yet still reasonable prices, we love this shop and get all of our shoes here.. from hard to find brands to our favorite hiking shoes, the selection is awesome. Used to love this place, but was in this past Sunday and couldn't get acknowledged as even existing. The women kept going back and forth waiting on a person, who must have been very important, as I stood in the middle of the store with 2 pair of shoes waiting to see if they had my size. Never said a word, like be with you in a minute, etc. Don't bother with a response online as you didn't care when I was stood in your store.

To those who know, it's no surprise, but if ya don't now ya know. This isn't your grandaddy's shoe store!

Lance and his team have a gem of a shoe and boot shop nestled up in the Blue Ridge mountains. From your outdoor gear, to your night time kicks, the footwear here are comfortable, durable and stylish all at once. These are some high-end foot wear, but worth every single penny.

While I was there, I witnessed him and his assistant handle a midday rush with finesse and diligence. He gave attention where it was needed and still was able to genuinely assist others as they came in to his store.

Local owned, I highly reccomend you make this a stop for your holiday or special occasion needs. And whatever the size, he will do his due diligence to provide what you need.

Best place to buy your shoes, hands down. Why? The customer service and quality of shoes offered are above and beyond. I was vacationing in the area and happened to stop in when I saw they sell Lems. Getting to try them on in person sealed the deal, and Lance the owner offered great customer service, making sure I was taken care of. Size 10s were too big, and the 9s too small so Lance ordered 9.5s for me and shipped them to my house for free! Ballards is a class act, providing great customer service through kindness and human interaction. Just what you would hope for from an independent, family run business.
