My family and I came from Brazil to study. Our kids really needed support with the language, specially my youngest who has been treating online since we moved. We have insisted many times to get a local treatment at this Speech Center. They put us into a lot of bureaucracy, yet just to make a fool of ourselves. We had the Pediatrician’s referral, the insurance approval, yet we were denied treatment because they said English was not our first language. Oh well, our kids were in need with assistance EXACTLY with the English language, but they didn’t care. I’m pretty sure that denying service because you are from another country is illegal in Florida. At least we have the internet to share when we can an awful service, or when we suffer cultural bias.

Dr. Cardoso was amazing.
I had an incident at a shooting range that caused permanent nerve damage to both ears. My hearing loss is profound. I am a teacher and would not have been able to continue teaching.
Dr. Cardoso was kind and reassuring that she could get me back on track. With my new hearing aids I can now hear better than I ever have. Background sounds in noisy environments are no longer a problem and my wife is happy that she does not have to loudly repeat things to be heard. Thank you Dr. Cardoso!

I can’t say enough about the Speech & Hearing Center at 3020 Lakeland Highlands Road. The front office staff is very friendly and professional whether it’s on the phone or in person. I personally saw Dr. Cardoso. She was amazing! She answered all my questions about hearing aids and walked me through how to wear them, clean them & other maintenance tasks. She meticulously calibrated my hearing aids and I haven’t had one problem with them. She also set up the app on my phone. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Have called 5 times over the last 4 business days and got a voicemail each time after I was transferred trying to make a new patient appointment for speech. The lady who answers the phone each time said "sorry that's the only number and way you can make an appointment." I've left 3 voicemails with no return call. If only people would just do their job...

My 89 yr old dad has been having issues with his hearing and with hearing aids for years. Dr. May was quickly able to remedy the problems he was having and he is now able to hear much better and not having problems with the hearing aids. She is the best! Thank you so much for all you do

I called two to three weeks ago to be sure they accepted my insurance and was told they accepted both of my insurance. I had a referral sent over from my primary. I waited over a week and had to leave two voicemails just to be told they don’t accept my primary so I couldn’t be seen bc they wouldn’t be able to bill my secondary. Waste of time.
