I can’t recommend Claxton Saw more highly. I bought a mower and the entire process could not have been smoother or better. Matthew was my salesman and he took the time to help me decide what I needed. He was very knowledgeable and super patient. The set up and delivery were flawless as well. On our riding mower we had new blades that have been of light-modest use. I have done business with them buying belts for it no problem there. But when it came to putting a small edge for maintenance purposes on blades that was never previously sharpened, over the phone the gentleman outright declined to. He hadn't seen the blades but said "it'd mess up the temper" - to sharpen the blades and balance em is not hard to do if you have the right tools. I can't be certain if you were just trying to line me up for buying new blades or not. Otherwise thankful

Staff was friendly answered all of our questions and repaired my dad's chain saw on the spot and returned it to him with in a half hour. Only draw back they did not cover the price and charge for parts and labor before the work was performed. However the charge was compatible to repair charges of local competitors.

My husband took our lawnmower in because it was using excessive oil and we didnt know why. It wasn't smoking, wasnt leaking, working perfectly fine but oil would deplete. He went and was give an appointment two weks out. On the day He went to his appointment they told him they were behind on work and for him to bring it back in a few weeks or go elsewhere which he refused sinxe he had an appointment. He took it in and specifically told them not to change the oil filter, air filter, he does his own maintenance. When he picked it up they had done exactly what he told them not to. His Bill reflected oil change with filter changes. The lawnmower would not crank easily, it would make shot gun sounds and smoke was coming from it. He took it back in and told them they made it worse instead of fixing it. The guy told him that it was normal " it's tight and has to be broken in". Well we didnt accept that lie. My husband took it back again and even the owner, an older gentleman, looked at the filters and said they were not new filters. So basically we were charged for setvices not rendered and whatever they DID do messed it up worse. They kept it amother week and then charged me $200 more. I talked to the son and he qas very nice, remembered how many years we had been faithful customers and said he would make it right and meet me half way. Next day my husband gets a call from the owner's wife who attempted to retract what her husband said and claimed that the oil and filters were changed, claimed the lawnmower magically messed up on its own and said we owed the full bill. We will never be going back there. You try to help our locally owned businesses yet they are crooked like all the rest. We will be telling all our family and friends to go elsewhere too.
