For those who don't feel that you are being served in the best manner, I suggest that you please take a moment to see what all is involved in serving our clients and community. CHP relies on donated funds that can run out very quickly, depending on the level of demand, which is ever increasing. CHP also relies on many volunteers who may not work a consistent schedule, which may mean that all of the information they need to help clients may not have gotten to them as quickly as needed to serve the clients. That said, the regular staff always works quickly to correct any issues.
CHP consists of many hard working, dedicated individuals. While no one pretends to be perfect, they are all good people, and I'm glad to be a part of the team.
I would also like to respond to a negative comment posted about Debi, Director of Client Services, a couple of months ago by saying what was posted simply isn't true. Her dedication to serving clients, even those who speak unkindly about her, is unwavering, and her responses to negative comments does not come with unkind words.

I usually give all five stars but not now, just been turned down by helping hands on getting a new well pump put in I guess if your poor person you don't count the only thing I need is a well pump I have no water at all so I'm supposed to sit here and do without water it just not right this is my first time asking for any kind of help with getting a new well pump

Director of Client Service, Debbie, was NOT reliable in sharing resources. Paid employees and volunteers access resources for themselves. The Board of Directors need to intervene.

Well organized and good prices. Only complaint is that they don’t bag purchases. I bought a set of four bowls and plates and they did not offer to do any wrapping or bagging.

Was at this "Thrift" store over the weekend.

This thrift store was an hour away from my home. I wanted to check some thrift stores that weren't near me to see what treasures I could find.

They had a sign over the outside building where prices were $1 - $10 each. A lot of items in that building were unmarked.

So I took them up to check what they wanted before I decided to buy them or not. I went up to the desk to check. The manager was completing a sale so I waited. Someone behind me had two things they wanted, so I let them go ahead of me.

When I finally got to the manager, who was cashiering, I told her that I wasn't sure what the prices were, she looked at a few of the pieces and then took out her smartphone and started pulling up EBay's website. And I asked her what she was doing. She said the cheapest that she could sell them for was $10 a plate as they were selling for $20+ on EBay.

I told her that other thrift stores, who were selling the same item/dish for less than a dollar or a little more than a dollar. She said that was the best that she could do. She said that she basis her pricing off EBay.

I will NOT be shopping here any more in the future when I visit the area. Such a shame as they had a lot of nice treasures in their buildings.

EDIT 9/20/22 - We stopped back to see if they were lowering their prices.
Now they have EBAY pricing. A separate section of the sales floor where items are never on sale. They also list on ebay, no issue trying to get the most for items. BUT come one, a vintage Snoopy Dog house that is listed on Mercari for 12, you have for $24, a 1980 Quaker Oats tin for $10. We tried, but the pricing for this THRIFT, NOT store is more expensive than the Antique Shops on the square. - (old posting) We used to shop here years back, (two) often as the prices were great. On a recent visit items were triple of not more (5 dollars for a wine glass and 3 dollars for a coffee mug) and when we asked why, they cashier said they were not longer a thrift but have become a business. YET they use to be for the community, helping someone buy mugs and plate for a dollar or less, now you see items in there that are MORE then the local antique shops. They also have an Ebay store and their clothing, which use to be a dollar a t-shirt are now triple that. Over priced items for a thrift shop, even GW is cheaper.

I have repeatedly ask about a cabinet for three weeks that has a sold sign on it. I was told another employee that worked upstairs wanted it , so my question becomes if she wanted it why did she not pay for it and take it home before going on vacation as I was told. It’s very obvious when an employee has reserved an item because the sold sign has no pertinent information like name , date, and how much was paid for the item! How long will they continue to hold it ? Once many years ago before they started taking debt I requested they hold a bicycle while I ran to the atm, they said they would but when I returned directly they had sold it to someone else!
