I came to Cutler and Gross after seeing someone with a really cool pair of glasses and getting a recommendation. They do have a great selection, and I still like the frame I picked, but overall, I walked away feeling misled and honestly pretty sad about the whole experience.

I spent $800 in total, including $200 for the lenses they suggested. For that price, I expected better service and guidance, but instead, I got a second-rate experience.
1. The frame left a deep dent on my nose after wearing it, which I feel should have been pointed out before purchase. When I mentioned it, the salesperson just casually said the same thing happened to him—after I had already made it clear I wanted these for everyday wear.
2. They suggested their lenses, but they’re not anti-glare or anti-reflective, which makes the glasses look way cheaper than they should. I assumed an actual eyewear brand would give better advice on this, but I was wrong.
3. They mentioned that if I got different lenses elsewhere, it would void their guarantee, so I went with their recommendation. What I didn’t realize was that the lenses were non-refundable, and by the time I saw how bad they looked, it was too late.

I don’t think they were being outright dishonest, but they definitely took advantage of the fact that I had never bought glasses before. For a brand positioning itself as high-end, they really need to improve how they guide customers. If they want to grow, they should focus less on making the sale and more on making sure people don’t walk away feeling ripped off. I won’t be coming back, and I’d recommend others do their research before committing.

Gabby offered top notch help. While the glasses are not cheap, they are very stylish, and they offer great customer service. I already have my eyes set on a cute pair of pink sunglasses. In short, I am a big fan!

I've been a customer of this Cutler & Gross location for years! Their customer service is outstanding -- you can tell they really care about their clients and are passionate about eyewear. Most recently, I was thrilled to learn about their bespoke frame manufacturing after my vintage frames broke. They recreated my beloved glasses, and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I purchased prescription sunglasses from this store some time ago. The shop assistants were all very kind and helpful. However, my experience with the prescription lenses wasn't entirely positive:

The prescription lenses took a month to be crafted, as it appears they had to involve a third party for the manufacturing process.
The resulting prescription lenses looked vastly different from the original lenses that came with the sunglasses.
Unfortunately, my initial order of prescription lenses had a defect, which led to an additional month-long wait for a remake.
Regrettably, the lens quality falls short in comparison to my other pairs from luxury brands, despite being the most expensive one I own.
Non-prescription lenses might be satisfactory based on other reviews, but I cannot recommend their prescription glasses based on my experience.

My friend and I stopped by here to casually look for new eye wear. We both ended up purchasing glasses. First, the selection is great. All the glasses are sturdy and well made. I've worn my pair daily for 4 years and the shape has held up. There's also great selection for sunglasses. Second, customer service was great. The sales person was highly knowledgeable and helped me to find good options. They also recommended the right style. They made slight adjustments and shipped out my eyewear to Boston within a few days. And followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied.

I'm actually planning to stop by to purchase a second pair next time I'm in NYC. I highly recommend this store. It's high quality frames made in Europe and the right balance of style and functionality.

Simply the BEST in luxury eye wear! The Cutler and Gross team in New York City is amazing in every way - customer service, knowledge, and efficiency. I have purchased glasses from other high-end stores in Manhattan and all of them fail in comparison. Arturo Vale and the rest of the staff are incredible; they always go above and beyond to make their customers happy!

Arturo and staff provide amazing professional service. They are talented design professionals, I have been so pleased with all of my glasses from C & G. Arturo worked with me on some Bespoke glasses as well. All has been accomplished easily despite living on the west coast. I could work with California shop but prefer to work with Arturo. I heartily recommend C & G without reservation. You will not be disappointed!
