I get hung up on constantly. You can never get through to anyone. The community care department refuses to take calls or return phone calls. And people wonder why veterans do what they do. We can’t get help.

Typical V. A. Healthcare: parking impossible; takes forever to get appointments; cancellations of appointments without notification; will not pick up the phone; pathological liars if they finally pick up. Impossible to navigate the system. If you have a serious illness, you will be in critical condition or dead before seeing a specialist doctor. Most doctors do not know the difference between a tonsil and a hemorrhoid or which end they are located. If the doctors can not google the medical condition, they can not treat it. So sad, because congress gave themselves the best health care benefits taxpayer money can buy, then trapped veterans in a mind-boggling bureaucracy on steroids--delay, deny, and lie until veterans die. Our congressmen should be flogged with a wet chicken and forced to back up to their mail boxes to get their pay checks, out of pure shame. Thank you, V.A., for allowing veterans a second chance to die for our country.

1st time at Dublin VA hospital in Dublin Ga and I must say I was very pleased with the staff and Dr. Key in the Audiology department, and the CPAP department, they work very hard to accommodate veterans with correct solutions to diagnosis. They followup with you to make sure things are going well with you, all with courtesy and a smile and I thank them for their service. The Feds should give them everything they need to become a even more Stella operating VA medical hospital and center for veterans.

Want me to have a colonoscophy tried to set up one time and was told it was canceled and that was several months ago. I was scheduled for a procedure on 29 Jul and found out yesterday when I was trying to verify that it was still on that no one would be there that dayan I would have to reschedule and the quickest appointment I could get was November. This is unfortunate and ridiculous. I thought the VA cared about the VETERANS.

I have a vet son did service for 17 yrs. Yes he has bipolar pass skizophrenia. They approved him to go into the Dom program, while in the Clairmont rd va.
They transported him to the dublin dom day of his admission,-- And rejected him the same day he was driven from Atlanta. They put me at risk sending him back to my home im moving from. As far as I'm concerned when these guys get really sick. The VA turns their back. Dublin va is horrible..as well as Clairmont. They told me there's is no program that assist mental health patients. Now my son is walking the streets aimlessly. I wished I had stopped him from being inducted in any branch of the armed forces..THEY JUST DONT CARE

First thing I need to say is that my one star rating has nothing to do with the medical care I receive at this facility. I've been quite happy with the care I have received from the medical staff.
My issue is with the support staff here at this facility. While driving to appointments to Dublin and Augusta I was denied travel pay. There standard reply was that (at the time) I was not rated at a minimum of 30% disability and thus not entitled to travel pay. (I have since gotten a higher rating that went back to 2017!) They have grabbed a hold of that 30% threshold and won't deviate even if shown guidance to the contrary.
After being poisoned at Camp Lejeune I developed kidney cancer which is a presumptive disease and per attending physician would require CT Scans, MRI's and PET scans to monitor the kidney issues.
After being denied by the travel pay department I attempted to get assistance from the Facility Veterans Advocacy Office. I now call it the "Pass it on Office" since they only pass on information on to the offending office. After many phone calls (leave a message is standard) with no identification of the phone number called, no returned call and emails that are unanswered I finally got a call from the same office I was having the issue with!! What a joke for supposedly Advocacy Office. Leadership issues? Probably. No accountability per our government culture. Same ole same! I was advised by the National VA Health Benefits Office and their opinion was that the 30% rule was not the only requirement for a veteran to receive travel pay!
I have attached what I gathered from the VA website as it pertains to travel pay.

"The BTSSS system criteria:
"This must be true: You're traveling for care at a VA health facility or for VA-approved care at a non-VA health facility in your community.
And at least one of these must also be true:
1. You have a VA disability rating of 30% or higher, or
2. You're traveling for treatment of a service-connected condition, even if your VA disability rating is less than 30%, or
3. You receive a VA pension, or"

Maybe I'll have better luck in the future. And it may be that the "Pass It On Office" may upgrade leadership and you'll have better luck than I did!

Every time I call this facility, I get hung up on when a transfer is needed or when I'm there physically, the staff is rude and it's usually a majority of the "Black" women who are extremely rude.

I was at mental health 2 weeks ago, my question is why the gay flags at the desk saying you treat everybody fairly or whatever it says. Why do gays need to always be set apart from every other veteran are they worth more. Take the rainbow cards flags etc down it’s offensive you’re saying gay veterans mean more than a straight veteran. When does this foolishness stop? Nobody cares that you’re gay or are pretending to be something other than what you were created. Let’s let the va be about veterans care period. Why always have to let people know who you prefer to sleep with? It’s stupid. Nobody cares or wants nor needs to know. Just one more reason the va is junk. Again it’s offensive that you single gays out as more special than anybody else!
