I strongly advise against seeking care at Emory Eye Center. For the well-being of yourself and your loved ones, please consider alternative options. My experience with this facility has been nothing short of disappointing, and I believe it requires significant restructuring. If a negative 5 (-5) was possible to rate, that would truly be the score deserved from my experience with Emory Eye Center.

As a professional with over 25 years of experience running my own firm, I cannot fathom operating a business that delivers such poor service while continuing to remain open and operational. If not for the call center's attempt to manage appointments and address patient concerns, which unfortunately falls under the Emory Hospital umbrella, this eye center would likely be out of business by now.

The "Medical Secretary" who seemingly makes unilateral decisions regarding patient care has demonstrated a lack of knowledge and professionalism. She repeatedly failed to provide clear answers or offer the supervisor’s name when requested. Her rude and dismissive behavior, including interrupting me while I explained the ongoing issues with scheduling my appointment, was unacceptable. I strongly believe she should no longer be in this role, as her actions indicate a complete disregard for patient care.

To date, I am still awaiting a call to schedule an appointment for two referrals my optometrist sent on November 18, 2024. Despite multiple phone calls and assurances from the call center that the office had received the referrals and would reach out, no follow-up has occurred. The referral was marked as an emergency, and I was advised to schedule the appointment within three weeks. As of December 8, 2024, this has still not happened.

I recently spoke with another call center representative who seemed genuinely concerned and empathetic, but after further investigation, I was informed that my referrals were not in the system. This contradicts the previous verification I received, which led me to question whether the referrals were mishandled or discarded.

This experience has left me deeply frustrated and disillusioned with the Emory Eye Center. It has caused me to reconsider my decision to continue receiving care within the Emory Health system. My grandmother often said, "When someone shows you their hand, believe it!" This situation has demonstrated a clear lack of professionalism and competence that has profoundly impacted my trust in Emory’s services.

I sincerely hope that Emory Hospital takes immediate action to address these issues and consider significant improvements to the Eye Center’s operations and patient care.

I genuinely believe that we all deserve better. With the utmost sincerity, I do not recommend contacting Emory Eye Center. Based on my experience, I believe it will only lead to unnecessary stress and disappointment, which no one should have to endure.

Dr. Yan and Dr. Leal are incredible! I had a detachment last year and then several recurrent tears - they always got me an appointment right away to be treated and saved my vision. They are always so kind and great with follow up. The waits can be long at times, as some other reviews have said, but only because they are trying to accommodate a large group of patients with pressing eye issues. I’m willing to wait for high quality care!

Doctor Hubbard has far too many people scheduled at the same time. Two hours after my appointment that I checked in early for and have not been seen. I can't comment on the level of care because I don't know how much longer I will be in the waiting room. Two hors in the waiting room after the scheduled appointment time is not an exaggeration. So far very unprofessional.

Sakina in Emory Eye Center needs help scheduling appointments and checking people out. We had a minor fresh out of surgery and had to wait ATLEAST 30 minutes just to speak with her about seeing a follow up doctor. The amount of small talk with customers and laughter is unacceptable when there is a line out the door waiting. Emory needs to hire someone else to help or find someone who is a tad bit faster at this process because it’s truly an inconvenience.

I was in and out in less than an hour for a morning Opthalmologist appointment with Dr. Aaron. They have a board in the lobby that shows you your place in line which was innovative.
Larry was fantastic as he did all my tests and measurements. The online portal is modern and helps a lot too.

My experience with this office has been completely awful, the staff is inconsiderate and not knowledgeable at all. this office has been nothing but a pain in my side since day one. They put other patient's personal information into others charts. My son has had another patients Social security number name and address in his chart. when we need to schedule an appointment we are booked out for over 6 months for a 30 minute appointment. the office Manager/Treatment coordinator refuses to return calls or answer emails in a timely manner. As a office manger myself in healthcare this is completely unacceptable. I would never allow my patients to feel this way, I would also take the time to train my staff accordingly including proper verbiage when on the appointment line. Emory please do better.

We drove 4.5 hrs for a 9:20 appointment and we are still waiting at 11:30. This office needs to be investigated for over booking patients. Complaints need to be filed with the Georgia Department of Community Health. Patients have rights in Georgia and there are laws in place that address this particular problem. After looking at the reviews while waiting, this is a regular issue and needs to be addressed.
