I had cataract surgery on both eyes and from the first time I went for my initial appointment to the follow up after surgery,it couldn't have been a better experience. The staff were so nice and informative,and I really liked Dr Parikh so much. He was great,in every aspect. Professional and caring,thorough,and personable. I had my second eye done on a Thursday,and learned he passed away that weekend. It upset me greatly,it really touched me. I hurt for his family so much. I can't explain it,only knowing him for such a brief time,but I thank the Lord I got to meet him and so blessed to have had him as my surgeon,because he was special,you could just tell. With all that going on with my eyes and should have been scared or nervous,I didn't give it a 2nd thought going to surgery on either eye. He had a gift,a really gifted Dr,and I just felt so sad for his wife and two children. I think about that still,and it's been a little over a year since I had it done. Also,without mentioning,my eyes were all good after,no pain,ever,during the surgery or after. We lost a gifted Dr ,but more,a very special man,and I'll always be grateful to have had him in my time of need. Why the Lord takes such a fine man in the prime of life is a mystery that even with my healed eyes I fail to see. They must have needed the very best Dr in Heaven,Bless you Dr Parikh,and Bless his family. I pray that you all have found peace throughout the days since then. Rest in Peace and hopefully one day,I'll see you again,Amen.

This is my first review ever because I'm very disappointed at this place. I reason pick this place because they accept ambetter insurance. During the visit of my eye exam, we discussed the price and how much it will cost me to get my both eyes surgery. They inform me that and I have to pay my deductible first then ambetter will pay the rest. I say it ok. We did the surgery on both eyes a month later.

After the surgery, I received a bill for my anesthesia total $1,300 for my both eyes. I call the anesthesia and asked why do I get this bill. They say because the anesthesia doctors are not in the network with ambetter. I was furious and explained to them that my eye doctor never inform me about to check if my anesthesia doctor is in network with my insurance. They said I need to call my eye doctor office to see if they can help me.

I call back to my eye doctor office and tell them about my bill with the anesthesia. They said it my responsibility to find out if the anesthesia doctor is in network with my insurance. Who in the world will know that. I told them you guys never inform me about it.
The only thing you guys told is pay my deductible and that is all. They didn't accept that is their false about didn't inform their customer about finding out if their insurance cover the anesthesia.

If I have known that I have to pay $1,300 for my anesthesia, I will pick different place where the doctor and the anesthesia will cover with my insurance. Please beware of the problem before you pick this doctor.

Needed to take my grandmother for her yearly eye exam and found this place for the first time this year. Clearly, I did not have a good experience.

First, my grandmother's yearly exams are always covered by medicare. More specifically, no copays. I even called the medicare representatives to confirm this. But Somehow, this office managed to charge her with a $2 copay. Really? Am I complaining over just $2? Sure, I'll let it slide since it was only $2.

Second, After the appointment, I took my grandmother to get her new pair of glasses... which is also supposed to be free per year. I was not able to get the glasses at this office because unlike most offices that I've frequented, this office does not sell glasses.... which was not made known to be until after my grandmother and I signed in for the appointment. I thought no big deal at first, but as it turns out, nearly all of the glasses stores do not accept insurance for glasses if the eye exam was not done at their own office.
Wait, so what does this mean? My grandmother is now no longer able to get her free pair of glasses... which was the main reason she needed the eye appointment in the first place.
Summary so far: She overpaid for an eye exam and now she can't get her glasses for free anymore.
But wait, that sounds like it was my fault. I should have studied up better to avoid this complication. Ok, sure. despite the fact that I clearly stated "My grandmother needs an eye exam and new pair of glasses" when I was talking to the representative to make an appointment, I can see how I should have known better. So next time, I will definitely take her to an office that also sells glasses.
So far, I agree that I should claim some of the blame, but here is where they are totally at fault.

I told the doctor and the nurses at least 5 times for a pair of reading glasses stronger than the generic ones available over the counter. I told them when I made the appointment. I told them when she was first triaged. I told the doctor when he first met her. I told him before we left the patient room. and I told them after they gave her the discharge summary papers. I even waited after discharge to clarify with the doctor himself if the prescription he wrote her is stronger than the current reading glasses which he examined.
He said yea, they are much stronger.
My grandmother got her glasses today and guess what? she tells me they are the same strength as the old ones.

Summary: visiting this office has resulted in an overpriced visit, becoming ineligible for the free pair of glasses, and getting prescribed a pair of glasses that are not at all what you asked for, while receiving reassurance during the whole visit that they are correct.

My impression: their business is greater than their patient care.

I've been going to see Dr. Parikh for a couple years now. He's done both my cataract surgeries (which went wonderfully) and then took care of a few other issues I ran into. Everything turned out great.

His front desk staff was wonderful and explained my insurance benefits to me every year because I changed insurances a couple of times and didn't really understand it.

The technicians were very friendly and took care of my problem very nicely. I love this place.

I visited Dr. Parikh's office today. Almost everyone I encountered there was completely unprofessional. The only exception being one nurse/assistant (I am unsure of her title) who was new and in training.

I informed the first nurse/ assistant (the trainee) I saw that I was uncomfortable with having my eyes dilated. She said she didn't think it would be a problem, but when she informed the 2nd nurse/ assistant that I did not want that test done, the 2nd woman said it had to be done. Upon continued refusal, Dr. Parikh was brought in. I don't remember if it was Dr. Parikh or the 2nd woman who said, "well, too bad you already signed the consent form." I responded that I had, in fact, NOT signed the form, sighting that I had wished to discuss it before consenting. Dr. Parikh refused to do any other part of the exam without doing dilation. I relented, because I had already paid my $65 co-pay, and did need to get glasses. When the woman brought in the consent form, she complained that she would have to rescan my paperwork because I had not previously signed the consent form (I would have thought they would have actually looked at the form before hand and seen that it was unsigned, especially since it was highlighted).

While in the secondary waiting room, I could hear a group of assistants/ nurses loudly gossiping about another patient who apparently had had facial lesions. One advised the rest of the group to wash their hands after touching this patient, and to sanitize anything they touched in between. I would have thought they wash their hands after touching ANY patient (as that is standard procedure).

Almost every time I was asked to confirm something from my preliminary paperwork, which had been entered into the computer, it had been entered incorrectly. The only two details that were correctly entered, that I was asked to confirm, were my name and birthdate.

Upon check out, I was informed I had been charged incorrectly at the beginning of the appointment, and owed another $6. Not a big deal, but just another example of how disorganized and unprofessional the office is. I declined to schedule a follow-up, obviously.

I was very afraid when I first seen Dr.P because my vision was so bad I was convinced I was loosing my site. But he asured me that wasnt the case and he could help me. He did cataract surgery on both my eyes and I can actually read street signs now. I will always trust him with my eyes. Always listens, takes time to
explain procedures and choices.
DR.s staff is the best around. They are efficient and friendly. They care.
Highly recommend and the only Dr. I trust.

I found Dr. Parikh on a google search and glad that I found him. He diagnosed me with an eye disease called papilledema and with his speedy reaction to my condition he was able to refer me to my current neurologist for my pseudotumor. I just had an appointment with him 3 weeks ago and found out through my neurologist, who is related through marriage, that he passed away 2 weeks ago. He was a very nice man and made sure he kept up with me about my condition because it is so rare.

Dr. Parikh and his staff members were absolutely the best, they knew me by name when they saw me because of how hard him and Dr. Raju tag teamed to keep me from losing my vision. It saddens me that I saw him a week before he passed and advised me that he would see me in a year and to keep him updated on when I would have my brain surgery. I send my deepest condolences to his wife, children and family members.

Slow, slow, slow. The office was empty with only one person already inside being examined when we got there. My husband's appointment was at 1:45 we got out around 3:30 p.m. When they called him to the back he was there waiting for the doctor for a very long time.
