This review isn't for the whole health department, it's just for social services. I really should NAME drop my caseworker. I wish I had time to file a compliant against my caseworker and how she handled my case. I applied for help after my injury, so I was temporally disabled and out of work. My caseworker dragged her feet with my case until the point where SHE was behind 40 days like it was my fault. I called numerous times to follow up with my case, I went to the office, I even spoke with the receptions thank God she was there to help because my case worker wasn't. But in the end, I didn't get any help. I was put in a bad situation. Then shortly thereafter they ran out of funding. Just be careful, because in my opinion she didn't care enough. She didn't even take the time to fully review my application. Because she questioned about some other assistance I needed and I said "yes ma'am it was on my application." Then she stated wasn't "aware."

Went there for a Covid test and didn't give me treatment or a mask when testing positive. Also refused to test me for flu and strep while I was there when I asked.

The lady at window #3 today (1:35pm) was TERRIBLE and rude. She doesn’t know how to treat people. If it wasn’t for Tracy that was awesome I would give one star. Please hire more people like Tracy!!

My kids were seen 7/18 at 5:15 & 5:30pm. Everyone we came into contact with was so kind and pleasant. Special shout-out to the Nurse that actually administered the immunizations! She was so patient, caring and did a great job overall. This was an appointment I was not looking forward to and everyone there really turned that around. Thanks you all! ❤️

I went in to be checked for a sinus headache and the PA told me I needed to see a psychiatrist! Lol I have gone to that same health department years ago when I was under some stress and I did seek help. But that was supposed to be private. This was the second time that I saw this idiot. The first time he prescribed high blood pressure medicine that I did not need. I controlled my cholesterol and slightly high blood pressure through diet and exercise. I am very uncomfortable going to this health department because of this narcissistic PA. I will not be going back. The rest of the staff are lovely people and are great. But the place is very dirty there was clumps of hair on the exam room floor and it wasn’t sanitary. I noticed this custodian employee didn’t even have a proper broom to sweep with, his broom was a matted up mess.

I needed an immunization form filed out and had no idea how to go about it. Called and spoke with two women who told me I did not need an appointment and gave me the hours and where to go. I went to this location on my lunch break. The women who helped me were kind and helpful and had me out of there within 20 minutes, no appointment. It was a slow day, so I'm sure that helped, but everyone was very helpful.

All the negative things you've EVER heard about a "health Department" are proved wronged by going to this place! Oh my god, I had the best experience. This place is organized and clean. The people are professional and caring. I had to go for rabies shots. My first shot was when I met Belinda!!! I love this woman. She doesn't love and embrace wildlife the way I do........ but she respected my choice to continue saving injured wildlife off the crowded roads of Gainesville. She happily gave me the shot then Michael gave me my second and Lauren gave me the third and final. These people are great and a wonderful asset to the health department Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This the best Place!

Woman at the “appointment” desk was rude and bothered. She seemed annoyed that I was there. I need some tests done for an immigration application and my doctor said sometimes the health department does STD testing for free on certain days. I asked her and she said “nothing here is free”. Which I understand but her attitude was bad from the beginning.
