Crystal vision achieved overall for my eyes …Thankful for this outstanding professional eye care business close to home ! From booking the appointment easily to attaining an available appointment then being greeted by the kind professional staff manager then to meeting the professional optometrist Dr. Herald who preformed a thorough eye exam full of details . He is highly knowledgeable . It was a pleasure as well to meeting the professional framed eyecare expert Kat to help guide one for choosing the correct frames . Framed Eyecare and Glasses is a local small business gem !

Overall: Great Location, Poor Customer Service

I wanted to support a local small business and had been driving by and researching for a while, so I decided to give them a try.

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I called for two days during business hours and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. When someone finally did, the man on the phone sounded like I was wasting his time. He mentioned that the woman who handles appointments was out and wouldn't be back until Wednesday of the following week (this was Friday when I called). He took my information, including insurance, and said she would call me back. No one ever did.

Ultimately, I went to Target Optical on Edgewood and had a great experience.

I really want to support local businesses in the community, but I can't if I can't even get in!

Fantastic. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 4 years old, this is the best eye doctor I’ve ever had. Dr. Herold is knowledgeable, caring, and personable. His staff are very friendly and love to help you find new glasses or make adjustments to your own. I must note that I feel very calm and relaxed when I go this practice, which is rarely the case at a doctor’s office. Thank you!!

I have been going here for 8 years. In fact, I wrote a 5 star review 8 years ago. I'm taking my business elsewhere now. In October of 2022, I got quote from them for a pair of eyeglasses. It was for over $2000! Granted, I picked designer frames, but still. Kat, the optician who has been there for years, and quite frankly has been off-putting since I met her, informed that "after my insurance" my portion would be $1024! I paid it (thinking to myself, I'm never ordering glasses from here again). Anyway, I got my glasses and then a year or so later, I looked at my insurance claims and noticed Framed had not filed a claim with my insurance in MANY years! Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, I needed to go in to get a new prescription for contacts so I asked about why a claim had never been made on my insurance for my glasses. There were other customers in the lobby and Kat assured me that she certainly did file a claim and that I must be mistaken. At that point she printed a copy of my invoice from 2022 showing me the discounted amounts that my insurance paid. Well, I had a question about something else a couple of days later and emailed them. Kat responded very rudely and told me to ask my insurance. So I did. I called them. I also took that opportunity to ask about any claims Framed had made for reimbursement. Framed hadn't filed for any claims in years. Not even for eye exams! Their fancy invoice accounting sure showed a discount of $1444 on the invoice however! At that point, I told the insurance I wanted to file a complaint against them. She flat out lied to me. When I search for providers from my insurance, Framed is the first one to show up. I don't think that should be the case if they are choosing to not file claims with insurance companies and doing some fancy accounting on invoiced to lead patients to believe that their portion "after insurance" is the cost of what the glasses should be at full cost. I know this because I just ordered my frames directly from the manufacturer and brought them along with my prescription to another vision center to have them filled with all the same technologies I had gotten on my previous frames with Framed. The frames were $565 and the lenses were $500. Mathematically that is $1065 (full price). "After insurance" I paid Framed $1024. Things that make you go hmmmmmm....... Goodbye Framed and Goodbye good reviews. Dr. Harold, you may not have the best beside manner but one of the worst things you ever did for your practice was hire Kat.

I had such a great experience here- every person on the staff is so great and helpful. I’m terrified of the thing that blows air in your eye, but the one they have was intentionally chosen to be less intense so clients felt more comfortable. How thoughtful!! Dr. Herold is amazing! He explained things to me and took the time to make me feel valued, which is often not the experience at a doctors office unfortunately. This is by far the best experience I’ve ever had at an eye doctor. I wish everyone could have an eye doctor like this! 11/10 recommend

Framed Glenwood is the best experience with eye care I’ve ever had. I loved my doctor in LA circa 2005, but had never had any reason for loyalty before or after that (so I kept going there on trips ever since), until I found Framed Glenwood. After two terrible experiences with recommended spots in town, I was delighted to find Dr. Herold and Kat! Kat is so warm and welcoming, and seems to know everyone who comes in the store. Dr. Herold is kind and professional and thoroughly discusses everything with his patients. Their care is first rate, customer service is incredible, and they have a great selection of frames and options for contact lenses even thought it’s a quaint place. I would 100% recommend this spot, and will miss them now that I have moved out of state. I’m sure I’ll be going back, though, if history repeats!

Awesome local business and excellent eye care. Dr. Herold was very professional and took his time to explain exactly what he was doing. Kat was also very knowledgeable and easy to work with. You can tell that they both take so much pride in what they are doing. I truly appreciated the care they took around COVID and felt comfortable during the exam. Would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for an optometrist.

I absolutely enjoy each visit here, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this office. Kat is so welcoming and pleasant as the first point of contact, both over the phone and in person. Dr. Herold is also very professional and patient with his clients. I always leave their office wishing all doctor's visits felt like this. Cheers
