Reading the reviews scared me of this place, but my primary care doctor’s nurse would never return my calls for a TB testing, so I was in desperate need of it done. I was just going to bite the bullet and go to the health department, but my experience there was simple and easy. I called and they transferred me to a nurse and got me scheduled the same week. My Google maps led me to the employee parking at first though, but I just had to swing around to the front of the building. Walking in, it did feel a little weird because there is also DCFS and some other departments mixed in with the health department, but I walked up to the window 15 minutes before my appointment time and got checked in and was seen within 10 minutes. Nobody was rude and answered all my questions.

I didn’t have any of the problems some of these reviews mentioned. I was there to get forms to registrar my toddler for school. Everything went well.

Again!!! For the second time, we called to verify they accept immunization walkins. We asked repeatedly "Yes, before 3:45." We arrive early with our kid from school and get snotty attitude about them not taking walkins and to come back. Whomever is in charge needs fired immediately and a complete restructuring needs to happen.

Very unprofessional. you walk in and get bad vibes like they hire anybody. can’t be discreet about anything. I went in to get std testing and it just felt uncomfortable and although I have no shame it shouldn’t feel weird to go in and get tested the stigma is still there. And then when I asked the lady to bill me it’s almost as if she got mad like it was coming out of her pocket or something like wth

whoever that black lady is upfront needs to get fired IMMEDIATELY, little lady so rude for no damn reason. everyone one else so nice & respectful but her boy she must wake up on the wrong side of the bed EVERY DAY

Website posted hours are wrong. Vital records is seemingly never open. The website says they’re open till 2:30 on Friday, they actually close at 2. Good luck if you’re a mom with a newborn trying to apply for WIC and get a birth certificate. Very frustrating when you have to secure childcare or plan your day around needing to do these things just for them to never be open.
