I just adopted a stray dog through Lumpkin County Animal Control. It was a great experience. I kept reporting a stray German Shepherd and worked with Officer Tony. He caught her in a dog trap and they evaluated her for a week, then I adopted her. She looks like full-blooded Shepherd with relatively no health issues. I'm so grateful to the folks at Lumpkin County Animal Control for helping to rescue Lady.

Absolutely rude staff. Pulled up at 4:00 on a Sunday (gate and website plainly say closing time is 4:30) to ask about a certain dog for adoption. Before I could get out of my car, she tells me that they are closed. I told her it was 3 minutes after 4, and she said "Sorry we're closed, why do you think our gate was half closed?" I pity these poor animals that are in the care of these 2 ladies.. If they are this hateful toward someone who is coming in about an animal, how are they treating the poor babies in the shelter? Definitely will not be back.

Ashley Dowdle they're not open on Sunday... I think they are a great group of people and why would you show up that late anyway knowing that they were closing soon? They help animals and their owners when needed for free just to help the animals and they don't have to, I along with a lot of other people think they are a God send for that gracious act of help!!! So go else where instead of slamming them !!!

Awsome little shelter to visit. A very nice and clean shelter. Very well organized and well maintained. Very polite and helpful staff on sight. Thank you guys so much for the help when we arrived. You guys rock.

Really clean and not smelly. Staff are nice and there’s a trail behind for you to walk around. The cats are all so nice, playful, fluffy and soft🐈🐈🐈
