My husband and I recently had our progressive lenses replaced in existing frames and received excellent care from optician Bal. It can be challenging to get progressives to fit just right, and Bal went the extra mile to make sure we were completely satisfied with our new lenses. Everyone in the shop is friendly and accommodating, and it's a pleasant, brightly-lit environment with a lovely assortment of frames.

Truly exceptional service. But today they went WAY above and beyond. My husband's glasses broke. We went in to see what our options were. While we are in the process of figuring that out, they came up with a pair of frames that fit his lenses, and gave them to him as a loaner. Never heard of an optometrist doing that before, and it impressed us. I also like how much time they take to ensure you get the lenses that work best for your style and needs.

Dr. Dosa was excellent. She spent a lot of time( 45 min), did a thorough exam, and explained my problem (cataracts) to me very clearly. She was much better than the ophthalmologist I had seen last week who spent 5 minutes with me and explained hardly anything.

Dr. Dosa did not think a new prescription would help because of my cataracts. I've had problems with my vision for the last year, and now I finally understand what is wrong and what can be done about it.

She has a delightful personality, is very competent, and I highly recommend her.

I been getting my glasses here for the last 3 years and i can say that they always have Cool Vibrant Frames. The Awesome Optometrist and Owner really does care about your vision. Patient staff to make sure your visit is accommodating and fun.

On my way to Fourth Street mall, we passed by this optometry clinic. I stepped in to ask if it is possible to duplicate glasses (to have a backup pair) and, if so, whether I could schedule an appointment.

Dr. Dossa curtly informed me that it would be illegal to duplicate glasses, and then gave me a lecture about subjectivity versus objectivity, and how optometry is a science. The condescending attitude made me feel as if I had asked if I could please urinate on their window.

Rudeness and condescension aside, it turns out Dr. Dossa was incorrect. According to FTC guidelines, people who have gone to stores and gotten their glasses duplicated, and common sense, it is totally fine to produce lenses based on specs from an existing pair of glasses.

So this is not a review of Dr. Dossa's services, which may be great -- but as a potential future customer, I was very much turned off by being made to feel wrong to ask a question and by then being fed misinformation under the guise of objectivity.

This office is the friendliest place. I was a walk-in. Good thing too. The Dr. found an irregularity in my retina. She has the most advanced equipment I've ever seen. I picked out the perfect frame. I swear I haven't seen this well in years. I did have surgery on my retina and I'll go back to them when I can see well though that eye.
