Just stop to take pics with this decommissioned sub which served our country from 1966 to 1993! This is HUGE and quite the backdrop for a great pic! Thank you to all our men and women who serve our country for our freedom! Did not actually go onto the base. Didn't know that we could visit it!

Was there on TDY for Small Armed Quals with me and buddy and we had a long drives to get there and we were using the Govvy. Got to the NGIS at around midnight. On the parking lot, and as I backing up, fixing my parking, my buddy who were asleep, suddenly flailing his arms all over the place and hit me which causes me to accidentally pressing on the gas pedal at full throttle, which I ended up hits one of the arms on the awning at the entrance. I was about to reprimand the guy but I figured it’s late, I’m tired and we’re about to wake up early for the Small Armed Quals and I just to check in and go to bed. So I reported the incidents to the front desk, who seems to be a young black man and was told to stand by. A few moments later, one of the Base Police Car stop by, not to take my statement but to wait for others. Shortly after, five other Base Police Cars arrived, led by an actual cops, a black dude and everyone else is MAs. So, here I thought, they gonna take my statements really quick and let me go. I was dead wrong and what ended up happening was, I was treated like a threat, with them treating me like I’m an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, like I’m not one of them, not in the Military even though I am at the time. One of the MA3, she’s Hispanic, was asking ME, personal questions which wasn’t even related to the incidents. She’s very racist, with disgust, she asking me where I’m from, where I was born, when I migrated and if I don’t answer HER questions, SHE THREATEN ME WITH AN ARREST! Then the Base Cops came at me acting cool and ASKING THE DAMN SAME QUESTION! I SHOWED THEM MY MILITARY ID! I TOLD THEM MY PURPOSES THERE AND IM THE ONE THAT TRYING TO MAKE THE REPORT! Fortunately one of the MA’s was professional and deescelate the situation. But the unprofessionalism of those RACIST SERVICE MEMBER AND THE BASE POLICE IS BAFFLING! Later I called the base the report but no one is answering so left the e voicemail. Nothing was done! Then I try to make submit ICE report. Website is not working! How the heck do they let these people go! That MA3 should have charged with UCMJ violations for being power hungry and that Police should be charged! I never thought it wouldn’t happen to me especially in the Military Base let alone in the South. But it’s apparent that these people is being selective of whom they be racist to. They wouldn’t go after Latinos or Blacks cause those group of people may make a big fuss out of it. I think things should all the way up to the IG. Even now, after my time of service, I still getting PTSD from that incidents. I have the documentation and hopefully it’s not too late! WHOEVER IN CHARGE OF THE SECURITY FORCES THERE SHOULD BE FIRED! THEY ONLY GETS PEOPLE THAT THEY CAN GET HANDS ON. I BET THEY WOULDNT EVEN BOTHER TO CHASE AFTER A SPORT CAR THAT SPEED OFF INSTEAD BEING INSTRUCTED TO CATCH SOMEONE WHO WENT OVER 1 MILES ABOVE SPEED LIMIT AND TREAT THEM LIKE TRASHED!

Everything is pretty close for you if you live on base. Gym is really good but the roads and parking lots are unacceptable I have had two incidents with potholes. First incident damaged my CV Axle and the Second incident popped my tire on a car that I bought 3 days prior.

Be very careful if you’re married to a service member on this base. They do not hold sailors accountable for their disgraceful behavior towards their family.

I retired from Kings Bay 25 years ago and have not been back on the base since. I had to get a new ID card. The entire experience from getting into the gate to the actual process was pleasant and I was in and gone within 30 minutes. The security man was so nice and even exchanged a kind, joking conversation with us. The lady at PSD was efficient and fast. Made me proud!

Beautiful Navy Base. Truly a statement for the land of the free! One question- why are the Colors not raised high? Does the base have an American Flag or should I donate one. I grew up a military brat and saw so many flags at bases.

Seemingly, the military personnel here are allowed to use federal equipment to spy on or otherwise infiltrate civilians' electronic devices for their arbitrary intentions. For some obscure and formerly unheard of reason, at least for myself, federal employees may be permitted to stalk other people entirely at random. Do what you will with this statement. However, be acquainted with these extraordinarily creepy and violating happenings, and if you find out your constitutional rights are being violated. Likewise, be prepared to be informed improper behavior in some capacity at personal discretion could be authorized; indeed, be ready for extortive measures used to quiet and conceal the potential for legal and public action. If you discover yourself in a potentially dangerous situation with individuals from this military base, as illustrated. Stand your ground. Do not engage. Seek legal help and ONLY continue with legal council. If intimidation efforts follow, remember it is their embarrassment. It is not your fault. These actions can have unforeseen consequences either they or one's self cannot anticipate. Be ready for possibly violent countermeasures to confine resistance. For the general public's safety and my peace, I feel a burden to come forward and hopefully shed light on the concern that Kings bay command is likely and deliberately failing to acknowledge, thwart, or account for misconduct by its employees. I would describe it as a callused, chickenhearted act and your tax dollars at work.

What I have described I experienced. It has been years because I was frightened to talk about what happened. I've realized this is not my burden and never was.

Be careful all, I mean it, and God bless you.

Rental rates are hourly so don’t get too far out of the inlet. Fuel cost was cheap as the fuel gauge never moved. Overall a 8/10 for submarine rentals, highly recommend getting the “Upgraded package” as a chef will accompany you to whip up meals when you get hungry. Good time to read a relax, pretty quiet quarters.
