I had foot surgery at NGHS Habersham Hospital on 02/10/25. I was treated extremely well by all of the staff that I came in contact with. Every single nurse that worked with me from the time I checked in until the time I left was extremely kind and compassionate, I just want to thank the entire staff for all tour hard work and dedication, and let you know that it does not go unnoticed!! Thank you again so much!!!

Absolutely no help at all. This place is a joke of a hospital. They did not kind of test of any sort to try and figure out the problem. Looked at trays from 3 years ago and assumed everything was the same. Absolute waste of time. There was blood all over the room where my wife was sitting the doctor that seen us doesn't care what you have going on he was more worried about the phone calls he was getting. I recommend finding any other hospital to go to. The help you get at Walgreens or CVS is better then this place

Do NOT come here.
- I got asked if I needed a blanket bc the nurse could tell I was cold. 2hrs later I’m told they don’t have any blankets. Okay.
- I got asked if I needed something for pain. That took 7hrs.
- I got told I can’t have prescribed medication that I have been prescribed for years (bc they don’t carry it). Two days later a different nurse said they can just have a courier bring it from the NEGA Gainesville location. That took 14hrs. They only brought half of the dose of it. The other half was forgotten.
- I’ve got to give at-least an hour heads up if I know I might need to use the restroom bc the nurses will be too busy to assist me even though I’m on restricted movement/bed rest per doctor’s orders. Luckily I’ve been able to control my bladder and only go twice a day but I imagine not every patient can do this. (I’ve actually been waiting close to two hours for relief as I type this.)
- Anytime there has been multiple nurses together, I have heard either work related drama or personal drama. I’m talking even if they’re standing two feet away from me.
- I asked a nurse a question about my missing prescription that wasn’t couried like I was told it would be. I was told to be quiet and that my talking messed her up on opening a medication for me and caused her to forget to scan my wristband.
- I was woke up in the middle of the night and told I was on bedrest and can’t get up alone until I have a certain done. Okay, understandable. It’s been 30hrs since and still no scan. I’m then told the next day that I was actually supposed to be on bed rest the moment I got to the room Im in. They didn’t tell me or ever mention it. I was in my room walking around with multiple nurses whenever I needed to grab something or use the restroom. Are they not reading doctor’s orders properly?
- I had a nurse tell me “there’s the door if I didn’t like it” when I tried to explain that I had a PRN for a certain medication. Luckily my mom was on the phone and heard it or I’m sure she would have denied saying it. I told this particular nurse that I felt as if she did not care about me. Honestly, out of the 12 or so nurses I’ve experienced so far, only 2 were kind and did not make me feel like a burden. The rest have whether it’s me asking a question or just trying to say 5 words because I am stressed from this treatment and just want to feel like a patient who is cared about, not a chore or burden.

This only sums of a fraction of what I have experienced here. It feels as if I am invisible. Truly. I’m actually in tears as I type this.

Do NOT come to this hospital unless it’s literal come here or death will happen. I wish I would have went to the Gainesville location.

2.8 star should tell you all you need to know. I delivered a baby in late 2023. There is no doubt in my mind the "pain management " after a C section was created by a man. Tylenol and ibuprofen after your body was almost cut in half a few pulled a 9lb baby out they give you Tylenol? Are you serious!! Yes if you ASKED for something stronger they would give you one but not after a 10min ordeal of "what's your pain scale" "where are you hurting" " why don't you need a narcotic" so much BS. After giving birth they should ask what pain medication do you want? If someone was to CHOSE a lighter pain medication I completely understand but you shouldn't be made to feel like a criminal for asking for REAL pain medication after a C section.

Grated i had a couple nurses that were great and understood. But the others made you feel like a criminal.....They also kept my child from me for 5Hours. I did not get to see my child for the first time until 5 HOURS after birth. It took 9 hours to discharge us. We were there 3 days and on the day we were supposed to go home it took them 9 HOURS to get the discharge information completed. Please please please have your baby else where. I would never deliver here again.

I’ve brought many friends to different medical centers and ERs around this area, and none of them have been anywhere as incredible as this one. We were in and out with barely any wait time between seeing the different people who took care of my friend. The doctor was also incredible and specifically didn’t want to over test her for things. I would totally recommend people to go here.

Absolutely the worst hospital experience my mom has ever had. She tends to get sick a lot so she has tried out about 10 major hospitals in the state. This one is depraved. The ER is great and there are some great nurses but there are some concerns. My mom fell on Saturday after being labeled a huge fall risk (She was an 85, 35 is a concern). A patient tech forgot to turn my mom's bed alarm on, so when my mom didn't get any help (after trying to call the nurse twice) She thought she could make it to the porta potty chair, but no alarm went off to stop her. She woke up with the doc hovering over her. I don't know how long she was out. I felt that was brushed over. All I got was that the staff was going to do a huddle to determine what went wrong and how to prevent it. Um no! My mom has Osteoporosis.... a "huddle" isn't good enough for me.
Then the same night she was promised to be cathed at 6:40 PM. She was retaining a ton of urine. The nurse said she would be right back to do the cath, and left my mom spread eagle on the bed because she was "coming right back" but nope...... went on to shift change. My mom did not get relief for over an hour and her bladder at that point it was so painful, she was miserable. All she wanted was relief.
Then, I expressed concerns to a nurse. I do not curse out people, I'm not naturally a rude person. I did ask "If this was your mother, how would you want her to be treated". I thought that was a very fair question at that point. This day staff has been completely negligent today. Well apparently she (the nurse) started crying, ran out of the room, sent two techs in who could not figure out the machines. What got me, was that my mom was so sick she proceeded to come in and tell my mom that she is going to refuse to talk to me (I'm her care giver)and she will never be talked to like that again. She was apparently a care giver to her
mom but she passed. My sick mama didn't need to hear that. PLUS, come on lady, I didn't even curse and I am so sorry, but I am not happy with the care my mom got. You have a little bit too much transference going on and maybe you need to grieve a bit more before coming back to work. I am going to fight for my mom because she is all I have. I was very restrained in my talk. Pointed yes, rude no.
Truthfully it was so bad, I wanted to take her out AMA and drive her down to Gainesville but I was scared insurance would deny claims if she was AMA. I asked for a transfer and they said no. After I expressed my concerns, its funny because the hospital ended up transferring her that night. I feel like they were covering up their mistakes. The fall was gross negligence, The cath incident was just someone not wanting to do their job, and the nurse crying was a bit extreme... but stressing my mom out worrying about the level of care she was going to receive after that, was completely uncalled for. She thought the staff was going to be completely passive aggressive on her and to be honest, it's not hard to believe.
Thank God they finally decided to transport her. Gainesville has already tested her more in one day than what Habersham did in five. The nurses are better and "on it". No one questions my mom or me when I have questions (and I ask them the same way) and the food, as my mom puts it, is a 5 star meal compared to Habersham. I wish I could post a picture of the dogfood Habersham gives out. That is EXACTLY what it smelled like. The first meal was 1 part meat and about 6 parts canned corn! No flavor and smelled like Alpo.
I have already called the patient line and they are setting up a formal investigation. They have also gone to Gainesville and interviewed my mom when I wasn't there. Which is fine. They apologized to my mom, which is more than what Habersham ever did... and it is being handled. I just felt like I needed to come on here and hope to prevent it happening to someone else.
Please, keep driving to Gainesville or to the Hospital in Clayton. That is our game plan from now on.
