IMPRESSIVE! Once again, O’Fallon Family Eyecare has gone above and beyond! I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a new optometrist. They do everything they can to make your appointment comfortable while still being extremely thorough. But it doesn’t stop there—they also work with you and insurance to find every discount and coverage level. For instance, I paid for my contacts out of pocket for years. Once I went to OFE, I was informed that my contacts were medically necessary (I’m legally blind) and that with the right insurance (it has to be the good insurance) my whole year of contacts was covered minus deductible.
I had to get new insurance this year, and it doesn’t cover as much. But Dr. Heygi won’t give up—we are trying options that will be covered. And communication about when trial contacts are ready is punctual and is conveniently texted. And if you order contacts to be shipped to your house, you get a text from the office as to when they were shipped, expected delivery and a tracking number.
I can’t say how happy I am to have found such a wonderful practice! And now, Dr. Joe Heygi, and his wife, Dr. Laura Heygi, are together in the same practice.
If you have bad eyes, or are in need of an eye doctor, take a trip to the south end of HWY K in O’Fallon. You won’t be disappointed. 👓🥸😊

The new office is very modern and stylish! High quality, state of the art equipment which meant a simpler more comfortable and efficient eye exam. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend!

Overall fantastic experience with the staff at O'Fallon Family Eyecare. They were incredibly patient with our child and thoroughly explained his eye health to us. I had an exam myself and they were incredibly thorough. I picked out glasses that day and was pleasantly surprised to get a text about 26 hours later saying my new glasses were ready! I can't rave enough about how considerate the staff was and their efficiency! There was minimal waiting room time and we were in and out within 2 hours. We will definitely be returning here for our eye needs and will be recommending friends and family.

Exceptional Care and Patience!
Dr. Joe and his team at O’Fallon Family Eyecare provided a thorough exam and took the time to explain everything in detail. Their kindness and patience were especially evident in helping our son learn to use contact lenses for the first time. Unlike a previous experience where he felt rushed and discouraged, the staff here was incredibly supportive, never making him feel like an inconvenience. Their guidance and encouragement made all the difference. If you’re looking for an eye care team that truly cares, I highly recommend them!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice!!! Drs. Joe and Laura, as well as their staff, are efficient, competent, reassuring and compassionate. This visit today I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Laura. She is awesome and, as an extra benefit, her dog Maple was part of my great experience!!! Drs. Had my first appt today with O’Fallon Family Eye Care. It was a wonderful experience! Very nice, clean office. Everyone I encountered was so happy and friendly. All the staff were very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions I had. It’s been a few years since I’ve had an eye exam, and I was pleasantly surprised with the advancement in equipment this office uses.. No more air puffs or eye dilation needed. Their machines take very detailed pictures of your eyes. This was probably the best and most thorough eye exam I’ve had, ever. The doctor was very nice and professional, he answered all of my questions and didn’t rush my appt. After my appt, I had a lot of help from the girls out front, to pick the perfect glasses without feeling rushed to choose. I even left with some trial contact lenses with my new updated prescription. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I left with a smile. I will definitely be recommending this office to everyone.
