Don’t let the name fool you. Payless is very competitive in pricing, but yet don’t ever scrimp on quality service and products. I have had a great experience purchasing from this wonderful store several times. The staff are always friendly and informative. Their frames and lenses are TOP NOTCH. I buy progressive (no line bifocals) lenses and they always turn out perfect.

Mark is extremely kind, professional and knowledgeable. He is an excellent example of why shopping local is so important. I will always support this business because they go above and beyond!!!

We all know the prices for glasses are through the roof, thankfully at Payless Optical you really do pay less. Mark is always so friendly, helpful and funny as well. Recently I called and he recognized my number and said “Dominoes what can I get for you” I was on the floor. For your next pair of frames be sure and stop by for great service and a great price.

When visiting the store you will experience a great salesperson. That is the owner Mark. I believe he knows and understands his business very well. Several issues that I want everyone to know. When working out the price of frames and lenses with Mark, write down what he tells you. He is very fast and polished when discussing price and especially if you decide to purchase multiple pairs at time of purchase. I watched him working with a very elderly man that was having a difficult time deciding what to purchase. We’ll the store had a least five customers waiting. He explained to the gentleman that he would give him the first pair for $200 instead of $225 and the second pair for $175. He goes on to say what is $200 and $175, that’s right $400. Then charges the man $450. The second is to upsell the Crizal lenses and when your two pair arrive, only one pair have the Crizal lenses. Write down or record everything that is said. I had to ask for the overcharge when running my credit card, that’s right he charged my card $450 also.

I've used this business for YEARS! Never had a frame problem.. EVER. You will pay half of literally anywhere else. The owner Mark is truly a very kind person. Their progressive lens are always half of any competitors! Half!! I love this small local business. They are not affiliated with the shop in Sevier County. Best little secret in Knoxville for the visually impared.

I just recently went to Mark and got my 3rd or 4th pair and I’m totally satisfied.
He’s always worked with me on frame selection and lenses as well.

I once had a pair that was not working for me. The lenses simply work! Mark recommended I see another optometrist who then gave me a different (the RIGHT one) Rx. Mark got it corrected and BOOM, they were perfect!
I strongly recommend Payless Optical. Best in town!

It used to be great service until the guy running it got sick and now his daughter is telling me that they are homeless and that's why it took me 3 weeks to get a lens repaired. Then I drive to get them when she calls and says they are ready and the doors are locked when arriving. Then she tells me that I am not being understanding about it. Madeline is having a tough time with her father I understand but someone needs to help that place so she can get her affairs in order.
