Today was so empowering and validating. I can’t express how important today was for my healing. If everyone medical appointment went like today, we would have a less traumatized chronic illness community. Finding a provider who isn’t intimidated by my terminology, who listens, takes notes, who is trauma informed, who gets excited for a challenge and has participated in additional trainings and took time to research my chronic illnesses was probably one of the most important things for me. Trying to work through the medical trauma and retrain my brain and heal is challenging, but providers like Alyssa Itzkowitz are changing the game! Maybe it’s the name, but really we need more Alyssa’s out there!
Today I feel like I got a piece of my power back, and that is worth so much more than I can express. My heart is full of gratitude tonight, and today a piece of me healed.
This is why TRAUMA INFORMED CARE MATTERS!

In the past, I’ve had good if not great experience with Rockville Hospital Tuesday I went to the blood lab. It was one attended that seemed overwhelmed with several people waiting to be seen. She couldn’t draw blood asked me to come back the following day returning the second day, there was another attendant alone, and again appeared to be overwhelmed with the work assignment. I was a little surprised and brought it to her attention that I was always so pleased with the staff here, but she said it was cut there at least two or three people waiting that they also took the blood with a good Cheerful personality, but she did seem stressed and what was waiting for I wish you luck in the future and sorry to see that the times have brought you to the situation .

I went to Rockville General Hospital for Physical Therapy on my feet. I have Jamie as a therapist. She is excellent! She is very knowledgeable, answers all my questions and is caring and considerate. Since I've been going, my condition has improved. The exercises she gives me to do at home really help my healing process and are easy to do. The location of the practice is easy to get to and the rest of the staff are so nice. I would recommend this physical therapy office to everyone!

What’s prompted me to write a review of a hospital of all places is the level of care and kindness I received during my visit. I visited this hospital on 8/6/24 for an emergency and was greeted with genuine care from the front desk. She was to the point, but still had a sincerity about her that made me feel like I’d be taken care of. The woman was phenomenal.

After checking in, the nurses who did my IV, drew blood, took X-rays were so patient and kind. The true icing on the cake was Dr MG (those are their initials as I don’t want to disclose their full name). I want to personally thank you for listening to me and treating me with such kindness and care. I wish all hospitals had a staff as excellent as this one. I hope to never go back to the ER, but if anyone reading this is in need of medical attention, this place is the one to go to. Thank you all so very much.
