Dan & Jill run a great shop -- the Soto Opticians shop on Hillview Street , near Morton's and the Sarasota hospital. They offer a wonderful array of glasses -- particularly Silhouettes, which I love. Also, they provide great service when I need a repair. A word of warning. They can be busy -- so, if I am going into their shop, I usually call ahead and let them know that I am coming.

I've been getting presciption glasses and sunglasses from Soto for six years, and have always loved the service this team at Soto provides. But over the last few days, these folks have gone above and beyond to rescue me. I dropped my glasses into the Intercoastal Waterway only three business days before leaving on a 14 day trip to Europe. They miraculously ordered top of the line, progressive lenses from their lab in New York, fitted me with new, stylish frames and had me ready to go 6 hours before I needed to head to the airport. Businesses like this are rare in today's retail world. Good luck getting this kind of service from a big box store or on-line retailer.

Soto Opticians Hillview Street store is Awesome!!!!!!
They have always carried great frames and personal service is Dan and Jill's specialty. The other day I was choosing some glasses and Dan had no problem being honest with me. I picked out a pair that were really cool looking-but I have never been good at judging glasses on myself. Dan very politely said, let's try a couple others that have a smaller frame for your face. I love my new glasses and they do fit and look much better. It's so difficult to find someone that wants to do the right thing and not the most expensive. Thank you for caring so much!
