Disappointing Experience with Dr. Camp's Ophthalmology Services

I recently visited Dr. Camp for an eye examination and unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations for professional eye care. During my appointment, I encountered several issues related to customer service and the overall environment.

Customer Service: The reception was less than welcoming, with my queries being answered in a dismissive manner. It was difficult to obtain clear information about the procedures and costs involved, which made the experience more stressful than necessary.

Professionalism: Dr. Camp seemed rushed during my consultation, which prevented a thorough discussion about my eye health concerns. I felt my appointment was handled with a lack of attention and care, which is not what I expect from a specialized medical professional.

Work Environment: Observations of the interaction between Dr. Camp and his staff suggested a tense work environment. Staff seemed uneasy, which may reflect broader issues related to management and workplace morale.

I believe choosing an ophthalmologist is a crucial decision, and unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Camp's services. I hope that this feedback can be used constructively to improve the service and environment for future patients.

Sterile environment, NO!. professional staff, NO! Ask his staff how to sterilize the aesthetic rooms, they don't... so you're pretty much paying thousands for nothing... then Dr. Camp changes the procedure of his machines aren't working, fees stay the same, but he does a cheaper procedure. He should be sued for medical negligent, fraud and not informing people of what's going on!!! Thank God for medical board complaints!

Do not go to Tahoe Sierra Eye & Optical. My husband just needed prescription glasses and got tricked into all of these exams he didn't need which ended up costing three times more than it should. They are not a honest practice. Go to Truckee Family Eyecare Optometry instead where I had a great experience.

I am very particular with my eyesight and am choosey about who i go to for vision care. I had laser surgery in the past from a renowned teaching hospital and I loved it for many years (I have since moved and it is not convenient). Age and time caught up with me and it was time to visit an eye doctor. During my research of eye doctors in the Reno area I came upon Dr. Camp in Truckee. I called. Kim was able to schedule me a very convenient appointment (a very quick 30 minute drive from Reno) and I went.

I could not have been happier with the care that I received from Dr. Camp and his staff. He determined that I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. He went above and beyond to research the very best option for my lenses. He even contacted the rep to see if I was a candidate for brand new lenses that was not yet widely available. I was, and I am surprised at the clarity and colors I can now see.

Dr. Camp was terrific at explaining everything to me before, during, and provided excellent aftercare. It is apparent that he truly cares about his patients and his primary role as a caregiver, not just making money. His unique, and "dry" sense of humor, was also refreshing.

I give Dr. Camp, Kim, and the rest of the staff a perfect "10" and my highest recommendation possible.

I went to this facility for an emergency eye infection during vacation. I was able to get in with a same day appointment. Dr. Camp prescribed an eye drop medication which I ended up not getting as the pharmacy didn’t call us back, and we were only there for a day. Most importantly, I paid my bill through the phone and I am highly suspicious that someone from their facility used my credit card to purchase concert tickets as I got a fraudulent charge soon after I paid my bill by phone. Patients be ware!

Do not go to Tahoe Sierra Eye and Optical-- terrible customer service and not a doctor I would ever trust with my eye prescription.
While I was able to get in quickly and easily, I found that my experience with Dr. Camp and his staff was very disappointing. The prescription I received is not accurate for my vision. And, the fact that the doctor did little to help with this, did not answer my questions (or really provide time to ask questions), did not honor the glasses I mistakenly bought with an inaccurate prescription, pushed me to use multifocal lenses when I do not need them, and cancelled an online contact subscription I hold all go into this very low score. He and his office are unwilling to prescribe any contacts that are not acuvue, and do not listen to the patient or honor the patient's experience. Do not go here-- waste of money and time.

I have been seeing them for 15+ years. Today, billing issues, a test they said I needed, so I booked it and showed up and they said the appointment reminder was "a mistake in their system" and I don't actually need the test anymore? And then they misplaced my glasses. 🙁
I just switched providers today.
