Terrible manager refused to sell product at advertised price product was on the shelf for $99 and rung up at the register for $160 refused to make it right excuse was product price went up. Sad part is the dsrp is $130 so price gouging people for products.

Not a good experience. The manager and assistant manger were very rude, un-welcoming, and very short when trying to communicate with them. And a good friend of mine who is a vendor with Ace said how the manager made her cry because of how he (the manager) spoke to her. If you can AVOID THE MANAGER AND ASSISTANT MANAGER, the rest of the staff were a delight and nice.

I went in yesterday for a specific product, couldn’t find it so one of the employees helped me locate it at the BACK of the store to an end cap which had a valid price tag of $4.59. I picked up three and headed to check out. They rang up for $6.99. I stated the price difference and the cashier said the price went up; from the time I walked to the front of the store? I told her the tag said $4.59 and she said it didn’t matter they went by the price it scans for. She sent another employee to the FRONT location to get a tag that read $6.99 (where there was NO product on the shelf) and not where the employee took me to. I told her that’s not where the employee took me and not where the product was. The employee that assisted me brought the tag up that read $4.59 from where he gave me the product and again the cashier said it was $6.99. At that point I requested a refund of the products. She called a manager and I was offered a “meet in the middle “ of $5.99….no. Customer service is no longer a main concern of this ace hardware and the attitude from the very beginning at check out was insane. The previous employees who went the extra mile to help ALL customers and not just those they know are gone, there are less than a handful still there that care and are truly helpful and I hope management notices those employees and does what’s necessary to keep them. People will drive further for a better experience.

The ace hardware in my town is awesome. The staff are very knowledgeable on the layout of the store. When I ask where an item is they can tell me the exact section right off the top of their heads. Most of the staff are also knowledgeable when it comes to general repair. If the person you are asking for advise on what to get doesnt know they often can reffer you to another staff member who does know what you need. The prices of every day things is very reasanble honestly I see no reason not to shop their first insted of my local walmart If i need any tool. I love the front of the stores selection of plants.

Go to this Ace. They are friendly and helpful
Too bad the owner of the Chiefland store doesn't do anything with the employees attitudes from the manager trickling down to the employees. He owns both stores.
I suggest if you really want the best place, go to Trenton.

Went to purchase a generator and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I would need to run power into my home. If you ever want to see what the business model is for great customer service is, this is the place to see it. Thank you for all your help Randall and Darien.
