Even after a big break because of snow and holiday, they were fast.

My husband went to pick up a refill for my prescription that was suppose to be ready on Monday after 2:00 pm and they said I had no prescription refill. I do not know what the problem is at this pharmacy. It is not run properly. I worked at the AF Academy as a Secretary a long time ago but it seems to have gone down hill. Now I have to call in my refill again & I might run out of my prescription.

The Best...I send my request to the AFA Community Center, never wait longer than 10 minutes.

I greatly appreciate the pharmacy, their profession staff, and volunteers. The service has improved greatly over the past few years, and I seldom have to wait for meds. My greatest issues are with changing passwords on MHS Genesis which has nothing to do with with the pharmacy. The text messages meds are ready for pickup are very helpful. Thank you,Telesfor Gil Montoya

I would give them zero if I could. They used to have numbers for the refill line, but got rid of them years ago. No we have to wait in a line that, at times, is similar to the Matterhorn at Disneyland. The other day, there were over 60 people in line (line went all the way to the post office). And the majority are elderly and have a hard time standing for that long. I have complained for years for them to fix this problem but they just don't care (including the academy commander). I will be writing to Washington next. Not they won't allow us to activate our new prescriptions over the phone, which makes the wait time even longer. They say that the current phone system can't handle the load of people calling in. Really? Than they need to update the phone system of increase the staff to handle the load. This pharmacy is the worst run pharmacy I have seen in all my decades in the government. I am a retired Air Force fighter pilot, combat veteran, TS/SCI clearance with 31 years of service active duty and defense contracting (including 17 years for HQ Air Force Space Command). I have submitted recommendations to them for years but they do nothing. Some people say to not complain because we are getting our medications for free, but that should not give them a free pass to be so incompetent. Zero ration. Reassign the OIC.

Oh....and they are closed on Saturdays now (to further support us).

Truly horrid customer service. They have time to chat with each other on the other side of the window but fully admit that they choose not to answer their phone. The phone rang constantly while I was there and was never answered, which is consistent with my past experience trying to call. They actually now make customers show up in person after having a prescription submitted by their doctor in order to “activate” the prescription. If the prescription is in their formulary, you can then wait (up to 2 hours) for it to be filled. If it is not, you can come back in 3-5 business days to pick up the special order, and there is absolutely no way for you to check ahead of time to see if it is ready, because they won’t answer the phone.

If I could give this pharmacy ZERO stars I would. My son has pneumonia and I waited for over an hour before I was told it would take another 15-20 minutes. I had to leave and come back, otherwise I was going to scream.

Update: I waited for 1 hour and 45 minutes before receiving my son's medication. The explanation I was given was that one of the meds was a controlled substance. I have NEVER in my life waited for almost 2 hours for a controlled substance. I honestly hope that someone in charge chooses to change the way this pharmacy is run. Every single person I spoke to there all stated that this wait time is normal… I find that completely unacceptable.

Tried for one week to activate new prescription at USAFA community center pharmacy using MHS Genesis and phone calls. MHS genesis continually errored out, no one answered AFA pharmacy phone line when I tried to follow up directly. Went in person to pharmacy, was given an 800 number to call to troubleshoot the MHS genesis problem. Called the number and finally gave up after going through several robo-driven menus unrelated to the problem. Called my doctor in the afternoon and asked him to retransmit the prescription to King Soopers pharmacy. Called KS two hours later who advised they received the prescription and I could pick it up the next day, which I did. No MHS Genesis to hassle with, KS answered phone after three rings, I picked up the med the next day, and KS handled the Tricare reimbursement paperwork.
