While Dr Van der Heyden has been pleasant, his main receptionist Kristin has been consistently rude over several appointments. I’ve tried to be respectful despite her unprofessional behavior, but she continued to be condescending and impatient with me without any provocation. I am immediately changing to a new practitioner based solely on Kristin’s consistent unpleasant behavior.

This was my first visit with Dr. Terry Van Der Heyden. I normally go to Bascom Palmer but after my last experience, they couldn;t even get my eye exam right for my glasses. And I shyed away from ODs because of the poor service of being treated like in a mill, just passed through . Dr. Terry Van Der Heyden was fantastic, thorough, professional, knowledgable and explained everything so I was feeling like I didn;t have to advocate for my healthcare. He also explained what the problem was with my new glasses perscribed by Bascom, that made my readers require me to hold anythiing I have to read up to my nose. He was amazing and will recommend him to anyone ineterested in being examined thoroughly and carefully.

Dr. Terry Van der Heyden is an excellent optometrist. He will spend a lot of time examining your eyes and explaining any questions very thoroughly. You are never processed in a big rush. We have been going to exams there for almost 3 decades. He's a kind and caring doctor and very rare to find. His staff is nice, but Dr. Van der Heiden is top notch!

Dr. Vanderheyden has been helping my entire family for decades! He is thorough, practical, helpful, funny and efficient! I went to another eye Dr. a couple years ago and can’t believe I did that! I got taken advantage of for that mistake. Kristen In the front office was extremely helpful and kind as well. It’s nice to go to a familiar local Dr and get treatment the way it was growing up here in Our small town.

I've been going to Dr. Van Der Heyden the entire time he's been in business. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Van Der Heyden is so competent and knowledgeable that there has never been a question that I have put to him that he couldn't answer and in great detail. He has fit many of my friends with contacts when other doctors have said they could not be fitted. The office staff is just great too. It's just an all around fantastic experience. If you don't give this doctor a try you're really missing out.
