I took my daughter to get her first set of contacts and was helped by Misty and David. Misty treated us like family and spent so much time making sure my daughter was completely comfortable with everything. David was kind and immediately helped us when we walked in and my daughter’s eye was irritated from her contacts. I have had an experience there where an employee wasn’t friendly, but overall I would recommend Vision Source Oviedo and ask for Misty and David!

The good and wonderful:

- Excellent eye prescriptions for my whole family!
- Prescription staff is very kind and very thorough, not pushy at all.

The not so good:

- Right away coming in they try to put add ins on to your eye appointment that are not covered by insurance. This is the picture of the back of the eye, which is literally the only eye place I have been to that has one. I wouldn’t mind it if they laid it out clearly that it was optional. I also might be interested in the service if they had told me which patient populations this would be most suitable for. Not a deal breaker just annoying.

- The glasses selling portion of the business is a big hang up for me. This year, because my prescription hadn’t changed too much, I was interested in prescription sunglasses. To get the cheapest frames (ugly), single vision, non polarized lenses I was quoted north of $200. I thought this was a bit high and took my prescription elsewhere. I found a name brand, polarized, for $125.

- the thing that really felt sus to me was their cancellation policy and satisfaction guarantee. Whereas the place I ended up ordering from has a cancellation policy up to delivery, Vision Source gives you until the end of the day. Also my glasses that I ordered from somewhere else come with 30 satisfaction guarantee with 100% returnable, Vision Source does not.

I am not slamming their policy, it is their business and they are free to make whatever decisions they wish. I am just saying that it didn’t feel right.

It also didn’t help my peace of mind that this complicated contract was shown to me right after my pupils had been dilated. It was small print on an iPad that I couldn’t get the text to zoom into. It could have been a user malfunction on my part, but again just added to my feeling of unease.

The doctors are okay but purchasing glasses from them has been a nightmare. Nobody seems to be on the same page. Terrible communication and follow through. They up charged us for a thinner lenses then didn’t even put those lenses in the frames. A month later we are still waiting for the right glasses with little expectation of a satisfactory resolution. Seems like they don’t care at all.

Worst experience ever. Received prescription that doesn't work and when I asked to have it altered was told I had progressive lenses which I DO NOT HAVE. I challenge you to look at my glasses and determine that. All I need is my new lenses fixed and they would not do it. Worst customer service ever and can not recommend.

We always receive excellent care from the Doctors and staff, but I want to especially thank Olivia for the patience and kindness she has shown each time I’ve brought in my adult autistic son to select frames. She makes what could be a nerve racking experience fun and enjoyable, and he ends up looking great too!
