I have gone to Vision Source for many years. They have always been great. At a visit this week Dr. Canupp was very helpful with a change in my eyes. It greatly improved my vision (which had just recently gotten worse). Diane at the front desk was very pleasant also.

I have been a patient here for over 10 years but no longer after how I was treated today. I needed a follow up visit with my eye doctor after an ER visit over the weekend so I called to try and get an appointment. First woman I spoke to was nice and tried to get me connected to someone at the office. After I was connected I was told I could be put on hold or get called right back. I chose to stay on hold. After about 5-10 minutes I was kicked to voicemail and left one expecting a call back by the end of the day, especially since I mentioned it was a follow up for an ER visit. I waited until later in the afternoon to call back, since I still hadn’t heard anything back. Again the first woman was very nice, said she remembered me calling and said she assumed I had got an appointment already. She tried to connect me to the same person again. It rang maybe twice and I was sent to voicemail again. This was around 3:30. I left another message hoping to hear back by the end of the day. I even tried to call back to the first woman to tell her I wasn’t connected and if I could try and be connected to someone else. However when I called her this time, it went straight to the hold music, then it rang twice, I heard mumbling, and then they hung up on me. I loved the doctors at this practice and have never had an issue, but after today I had to make an appointment somewhere else to be seen. I hope they fix this for patients in the future.

Staff is very thorough. They use state-of-the-art equipment. They are especially knowledgeable in designing frames to match the individual needs. Prices are competitive .

The first time I called, the woman who answered the phone was curt and demeaning. She made me feel as though I were a burden when trying to make a new patient appointment. I called back another day and was able to reach someone else who took my information and scheduled me. The optometrist and assistants were kind and knowledgeable. I thought that would balance my experience with the administrators. It did not. When I made my daughters' appointments the experience declined exponentially. Our appointment was at 8:40. The office opened at 8:30. We were there at 8:25. We went in as the doors opened. When my daughter went up to get her paperwork, the woman at the front desk was very argumentative, snapped at her and said "hurry and fill these out. This is a time issue". Every interaction with the front desk was grueling. They were rude, rushed, and condescending. From the very first phone call, to checking out I was uncomfortable speaking with them. It is a shame such wonderful doctors have a miserable team representing the face of their business.

This is my second year having my eyes examined at Vision Source Winder. I am very pleased with the entire staff from the check-in, assistants, doctors, and check out. They offer high tech services but don't push them on you if you decline. The doctors are knowledgeable and explained my options for vision correction. I've already made my appointment for next year.
