Hands down my favorite place to buy glasses anywhere. Their selection of brands is remarkable, and the sales staff overall have a really great eye for the frames and brands that will best work for you. Several times I've walked in with a plan to see a specific frame I know they carry, and wind up introduced to one or several similar or related frames or designers. Last time I wound up in some Blake Kuwahara frames I love. Also they work with my optical insurance.

I got progressives from another optometrist but the prescription never felt quite right. I found myself not wearing them when I should. I constantly nodded up and down to find the right focus point and constantly felt the clarity was never quite right.

Finally I went to Visionary with a non-specific complaint- the glasses were just not right. 30mins later I had the most picky, exacting eye exam of my life. The Optometrist just kept trying new things, asking questions, having me read eye charts, my phone and street signs at different distances from the store window.

Perfection. My experience with the new lenses is totally different from the old. I wear my glasses much more and hardly notice when I do. My old habit of nodding up and down to find the right focus is gone. It is intuitive and unobtrusive. No complaints, just appreciation for the great attention, extra effort and terrific results.

Great Service. Beautiful Frames. Quality. The best quality service, knowledge and experience in the neighborhood. Period. A great selection of unique and beautiful frames. I grew up in Carroll Gardens and own a business too. I completely disagree with other reviewers. I loved Gil for who he was, his personal touch and hope he is doing well. But the new shop is another level, the new owners are great. Be sure to take the time to discuss your needs with them, and get your eyes checked, and then measure your results. They have decades of experience, actually care, know their stuff, have friendly helpful staff, and take pride in what they do. To me this is exceptional especially given the lack of real business owners we usually get in Brooklyn. I don't bother to go anywhere else anymore, these guys are simply perfect.

I had kind of a terrible experience here getting a warranty replacement on some lenses. They didn’t want to do it, they told me it would be like “putting a Ferrari engine in a Camry” cause my glasses weren’t nice enough.

I brought in an admittedly cheap pair of glasses. Doesn’t cause me any problems. They didn’t have a problem with it when I paid for the lenses the first time. I have many pairs of glasses, some Oliver Peoples, Lindberg, etc, and some, like these, from Eyebuydirect.

My trouble began when I came in for the replacement, the guy at the counter said that “not that he didn’t trust me” but how did they know they had put the lenses in these glasses? I assured him I wasn’t trying to pull a fast one. And he agreed to take the glasses. I left. A couple minutes later he calls and says he can’t put it in these glasses because the temples is damaged. I asked what that had to do with the lenses and he didn’t have a great reply. I have a couple pair of these glasses, so I dropped off a better pair. When I dropped off a non-damaged pair, that’s when they told me the Ferrari comment. I insisted they just replace the lenses as I wanted, they did it begrudgingly. When I went to pick up my glasses, they handed them back covered in fingerprints.

I wouldn’t do business with these snobs again if they paid me.
